It is great to see that the Vermont Captives Insurance Division is proactively seeking ways to utilize new technologies like blockchain. Although the trial will be limited in nature--use of blockchain software for filing captives' incorporation documents--one expects that Vermont will use a (successful) trial to expand blockchain use to other areas. We look forward to tracking this trial.

The Vermont Captive Insurance Division is planning to work with the Vermont Secretary of State to experiment with the use of blockchain for captives. Vermont, the largest US captive domicile, will trial the use of blockchain software for filing incorporation documents for captives.
