Conversion of Fixed Term Contract deadline extended for UAE Employers

Law No. 33/2021 on the Regulation of Employment Relationships (Labour Law) was issued on 15 November 2021 and came into force on 2 February 2022. The UAE Labour Law mandates that all employers must convert any existing employees on an unlimited term contract to a fixed term contract by 2 February 2023. In a surprising move, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) has issued Resolution No. 27/2023 extending the deadline for such conversion to 31 December 2023. Employers will now have an additional 11 months to comply with this requirement.
