Delay in tariff update for OICP cases

It has been three years since the introduction of the tariff system and the OICP claims portal. Statute dictated that before expiry of the three year term there would be a review of the tariff system to see if changes were necessary.

All interested stakeholders reported in and the Lord Chancellor was set to make an announcement before the end of May 2024. While it was acknowledged that the tariffs set three years ago were set to account for inflation it was widely anticipated that given the changes over the past few years the Lord Chancellor would recommend an increase in the tariffs.

Unfortunately, due to the dissolution of Parliament and the recent General Election, any announcement into the OICP system was delayed. It is hoped that there will be some form of announcement in the near future given there is now a new government in place.
