The President of the Republic of Kenya, His Excellency William Ruto has announced the introduction of a Digital Nomad Work Permit. Speaking at the Magical Kenya Travel Expo 2024, he emphasized Kenya’s commitment to providing a conducive environment for international investors and community.
The Digital Nomad Work Permit is tailored to global digital professionals, allowing them to live and remotely work in Kenya while enjoying the country’s natural beauty and numerous tourist attractions.
While it is yet to be operationalized and made available on the Department of Immigration’s electronic Foreign National Service (eFNS) system, we expect that this shall be done in the near future.
In addition, we anticipate that the Kenya Citizenship and Immigration Act, 2011 and Regulations will be amended to introduce the new class of work permit while providing the requirements and fees payable.
We will continue regularly monitoring this new development.
