Kate is the Catastrophic and Large Loss Injury Manager and a practising solicitor in our Manchester office, having began her career with the team in 2006.
Kate specialises in the handling of catastrophic and large loss cases, worth in excess of £100,000, for major insurer clients. As wells as claims from England and Wales, Kate has extensive experience in claims arising in the jurisdictions of the Channel Islands and Isle of Man, forming key relationships with many of the claimants’ legal representatives and agent Advocates to the benefit of insurer clients in terms of timely settlement of claims and minimising indemnity spend.
Kate has a specialist interest in Periodical Payment Orders, including drafting orders, managing a team administering PPOs on behalf of insurer clients and advising clients regarding technical elements including reverse indemnities, variable PPOs and capitalisation, and also the personal injury discount rate.
Kate also manages Clyde & Co’s Catastrophic and Large Loss team from an operational perspective. She manages, maintains and grows relationships, on behalf of the partners of the team, with key business services to provide a coherent and consistent offering for the benefit of current and future clients and to optimise efficiencies across the team. This involves leading MI delivery, analysis, training and technology development for the Catastrophic and Large Loss team.
Kate is the local Network Chair of Pryde & Co, Clyde & Co’s LGBTQIA+ and allies network.
